Cullbackey first became aware of the asbestos after an audit by the Asbestos NI Scheme for Northern Ireland schools, whereby they were given a grant in order to remove and renovate the damage it had caused. Cullybackey acted immediately, and with the help and advice from both Asbestos Scheme and Cleary Contracting, Cullybackey High School is now successfully Asbestos free and all is 100% clear in their last inspection.

Overview of the Project:

This contract was completed during term time.  Within the scope of the works we initially removed asbestos from the windows and soffits, followed by removing the existing curtain wall and windows from all elevations of the school.  Some areas 3 and 4 storeys high.  We workded through 48 classrooms to successfully complete the scheme, all works phased for minimal disruption to classroom activities and completed to the original hand over date.
